    Description

    Week beginning May 14, 1944 Broadway Theatre (NYC) Playbill for the Oscar Hammerstein II adaptation of Georges Bizet's opera Carmen for an all-black cast, Carmen Jones, with Muriel Smith and Muriel Rahn alternating in the title role and Luther Saxon and Napoleon Reed sharing the role of Joe.  The show ran from December 2, 1943 through February 10, 1945.
    Text pages are securely bound and clean through the text body with mild corner wear, including a few small dog-ears, and other minor signs of handling.  Covers are mildly soiled with a one-inch triangular stain at the base of the spine.  Front has a creased lower right corner.
