    Description

CHICAGO STAGEBILL YEARBOOK: 1947 -- PICTORIAL & STATISTICAL REVIEW OF THE THEATRICAL SEASON OF 1946/7 WITH A CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY OF THE 24 PRECEDEING YEARS OF THE CHICAGO STAGE.
This volume is a piece of American Theatre history.  And is a treat for any theatre buff.
It features the shows that played Chicago during the 1946/7 theatre season with a photo layout, cast list, and engagement history.
It also has a listing of all the commercials shows that played Chicago from the 1922 season onward.
A fascinating slice of theatre history from the days when many stars toured the country in the vehicles that gave them success.  (A staging of Max Reinhardt's film of Shakespeare's MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM played the Auditorium starring Mickey Rooney & Olivia DeHavilland ! )
The first two photos show pages of listings with photos, cast lists, etc from the featured 1946/7 season.
The third photo is an example of the historical listings ( this shows part of the 1935/6 season) which also have cast and engagement information.  (No photos for listing from 1922 to 1946.)
The fourth and fifth photos show the cover and spine of the book.
